Quick start
- First, you need to give your internal team the keys. Navigate to Settings > Teams and edit the permissions for your specific team member. In the roles and permissions section, simply enable the Ad Manager checkbox.
- Next, your client will navigate to their Sub-Account, open the Marketing tab, and click into Ad Manager.
Follow the detailed steps below to complete the setup.
You just landed a massive new client, and they are ready to pump thousands of dollars into Meta ads. The strategy is dialed in, the creatives are beautiful, and the offer is completely irresistible. You are ready to launch and get them some massive, undeniable wins.
But then, the classic Facebook permissions nightmare begins. Your client spends three days trying to figure out their Business Manager. They grant you the wrong access level, link the wrong business page, and somehow manage to get their own Ad Account temporarily disabled. Your campaign launch is delayed, the client is already frustrated, and you are wasting hours playing IT support instead of actually buying media.
Getting clients connected to your ad infrastructure should never require a computer science degree. HighLevel completely eliminates this onboarding friction with the Ad Manager. Your clients can subscribe and securely connect their entire Facebook ecosystem directly inside their CRM dashboard with just a few simple clicks. Let’s get your clients connected and your ads live.
Part 1: Grant Access and Activate
Ready to streamline this? Here is exactly how to do it in 60 seconds:
- First, you need to give your internal team the keys. Navigate to Settings > Teams and edit the permissions for your specific team member. In the roles and permissions section, simply enable the Ad Manager checkbox.
- Next, your client will navigate to their Sub-Account, open the Marketing tab, and click into Ad Manager.
- They will click the Activate Ad Manager button to purchase the subscription you defined. The system instantly creates a subscription between their card and your Stripe account. (Remember: The monthly subscription goes straight to your agency, while Facebook bills their card directly for the actual ad spend!)
Part 2: Connect the Facebook Ecosystem
Now that they are subscribed, they flow right into the seamless onboarding process.
- Your client will click the Connect Facebook button.
- They will be prompted to enter their standard Facebook credentials.
- They must allow all permissions to the LeadConnector app, including access to their Business Manager. (Pro-tip: Make sure they leave all permission toggles enabled and checkboxes selected. If they skip permissions, the connection will fail).
Part 3: Lock in the Ad Account
Once Facebook is connected, the system will automatically pull in their associated Meta Ad accounts.
- From the Select Ad Account dropdown, choose the specific ad account you want to run campaigns from.
- Only eligible accounts can be connected. Ensure the account status is healthy. Active, Unsettled, Pending risk review, or Pending closure statuses will connect perfectly.
- If the account status says Disabled or Closed, Facebook has restricted them, and the account cannot be connected to the Ad Manager until they resolve it directly with Meta.
Part 4: Link the Business Page
You need an identity to run your ads from.
- Review the list of available Facebook pages associated with the connected Business Manager.
- Click Connect next to the specific page you want to link to the Ad Manager.
- Click Get Started. You are now officially ready to build and launch campaigns! (Note: If you need to connect additional pages later, simply go to Ad Manager settings > Pages and click Connect Facebook page(s)).
Stop fighting with complex permission structures and let your clients onboard themselves seamlessly so you can focus on driving massive ROI.
